Last week, our incredible group of pupils from North Star 180° embarked on the ‘Plod to the Uffington White Horse,’ a challenging yet rewarding two-day walk covering a total of 34 miles. Our journey took us along the historic Wansdyke, Sarsons Way, and The Ridgeway, allowing us to visit three of the seven magnificent white horses, culminating at the iconic Uffington White Horse.

We were blessed with perfect weather, making it ideal for walking and soaking in the breathtaking views across the beautiful countryside. Despite the hard-going terrain and the inevitable sores and pains, the morale within our group remained exceptionally high. The camaraderie was impeccable, with everyone checking in on each other and offering support whenever needed.

Did you know? The Uffington White Horse is believed to be over 3,000 years old, making it the oldest chalk-cut hill figure in Britain!

I am immensely proud of this diverse group of individuals and our two dedicated staff members who walked this route together. Their resilience and unity were truly inspiring, and it was a privilege to witness them experience this unforgettable event.

Thank you to everyone who supported and sponsored our walk. Your encouragement made all the difference! 🙌 Paul Bentley.
